Kind of think this person has done this once or twice. Nice when you have a concrete base to keep clean. My local scrap yard in in an old quarry.

My best local has a electromagnetic sweeper and a vacuum sweeper plus the people who work there will grab a broom anytime small stuff gets spilled.

The one I use has a sign follow the man guiding you or your flats are yours.
I asked the weigh master once about his sign. He said if any of our customers has a flat while in my yard if they were following their guide then I will pay for the tire repair, even buy a new one if the tire cannot be repaired.

Plenty of scrap buyers, but no supply of remnants, bar ends, anything worthwhile. Of course, no one asks their real estate agent about that...do they?

Most of the junk yards around here are just a clearing in the woods where some packrat started collecting broken cars 50 years ago. I've never seen concrete or asphalt.

Mine is Clark Iron and Metal, Murfreesboro TN. $0.25/lb for you to buy scrap from them and they have several sizes of new scrap you can buy too. They buy scrap as well, at prices I consider decent. Last time I was there it was $5.50 for 100 #s of shred steel/iron.
