    Scraping plane

    Hi,
Here is my new scraping plane, made from a hacked Stanley No4 (actually a bad Asian copy of Stanley)

So now, that ugly thing starts to look a little more pretty , what do you think ?

The build is fully explained in that article on my Website:
La Belle Note - Scraping plane

    Here are some close pics:

    Thanks for watching,
    Christophe

Thanks for this, Christophe. I have had in mind for some time to use an old Stanley to make a scraper plane and sought out yours for some ideas. But I can’t quite see how you adjust depth of cut, perhaps you could clarify?

Hi Phil, thanks for the interest, I didn't have much success with this one ...
Well, for the depth of cut, it's just a question of slightly tapping with a small plane hammer, starting from point zero where the bed lies on a flat surface.
Take care if you start from a Stanley 4 bed, you need to open up the mouth, it has a tendency to clog...
