This is actually quite fascinating. I can tell this is in China, and many people struggle with parking and driving. The "security guard" is called a baoyan and they work in the parking areas and apartment complexes. No real authority though.
I noticed that this car has some slight rear-steer capabilities, which definitely helps in this case. While this technology is great for getting the car in the parking spot consistently and "perfectly", the person driving gets no practice parking, and now there is further dumbing down of driving skill. Use it or lose it, and in this case, definitely losing that skill.

This technology could also be helpful for older folks where depth perception and eyesight has degraded where parking is now more difficult, but then the question really becomes, if that's the case, should they still be driving?

My 82 year old mother no longer drives, and that's a good thing! She struggles with "driving" her walker and a shopping cart, I shudder to think of her on the road. Thankfully, she gave up driving after some health issues and not driving for a year, and just didn't feel up for driving anymore. Whew!

I just watched my girlfriend do a 42 point turn in our driveway. You could land a jumbo jet in our driveway. I can think of a use for this technology for people who are not old and have normal eyesight.

The real question is, is it parking equidistant between the lines or the cars? Both present issues. A human parking a car may choose to park a little to one side or the other to allow better access for themselves or another driver. Automation hasn't caught on to common courtesy yet.

At least it is smart enough to know that back in parking gives it an easier shot of centering the vehicle in the park space. try heading in with a long bed crew cab pickup sometime. Most parking spaces are 3to 4 feet too short for them anyway
