Each wrench size has a range of 3mm :: 7-10 10-13 13-16
A single 6" adjustable wrench has the span of all three of these wrenches and sells for 1/10 of the set of three...
We call these kinds of wrenches "bolt rounders" anyway...

Spot on...just another gimmick for the house husband that doesn't understand (or own) any proper tools...In my bicycle mechanic days in the mid 70's, we used to refer to Crescent wrenches as 'open ended adjustable idiot's wrench', and the cruel trick on the new mechanic was to send him looking for the metric Crescent wrench...good fun.
