I can't imagine owning a Swiss Army knife and not bothering to look up the functions of the less obvious tools.

Do you know what the original purpose of the multipurpose hook was?

How about these tools ? The small knife is a Wenger and the larger is a Victorinox.

I've been told the 'skyhook' was for tightening boot laces, esp for ski boots. Also told it was good for carrying brown paper packages tied up with string. No guesses on those particular tools...none of mine have had them.

It seems like Victorinox would make up a knife with any combination of different blades/tools.
The one I have has two blades (2" , 1 1/2") a can opener/small screw driver, bottle opener larger screwdriver with wire stripper? Scissor, Phillips screwdriver and awl no hole(90 degree). This one has a company logo (Sika) one one side and the Swiss cross on the other.

No commercial model will satisfy everyone's needs, or, if it does, will be too cumbersome to carry.
