Over 1.6 million acres of California almonds are harvested with a tractor mounted version of this. I can't really tell, but these look like hazel nuts (filberts) in this video.

Way too small for filberts. Also - the nuts fall from the tree and are vacuumed up to harvest. Hazel nut leaves nor the tree trunk nor the nuts in their shells don't look like that either. THis is more likely a berry, but I can't see it well enough to identify, even if I magnify.
