Simple load spreader bar for a workshop engine crane

Crank up the welder and make one of these.

    Easy project.

    Cheers Rob

Nice. Spreader bars are a must for lifting awkward, over length or difficult to balance loads safely
Never try to tell me it can't be done

Technically this is actually a lifting beam, but everyone seems to call them spreader bars. They do spread the load lifting points.

A real spreader bar simply spreads a long length of chain with a length adjustable beam in beam arrangement.

However, a lifting beam has the advantage of taking up less vertical space under the crane jib.
