Simple way to make automated machines at home

Hi all,
This is how I made a simple machine to help me make fridge magnets. I used to own a small manufacturing company that mainly made wooden products for the craft retail and heritage markets in the UK. We got a lot of orders for fridge magnets and so i built this machine to cut the magnetic strip into suitably sized lengths.
I used a novel method to make it run from a pc you might find it helpful so please enjoy the video:-
