    Small rocket

I made this a while back. In the background is a carnival attraction all folded up, we were rebuilding it at the same time as making the rocket. Our neighbors decided we weren't normal.

I haven't found pictures of that one being launched, may be on video tape. It broke the sound barrier about 1 second after launch, right at engine burnout (40 pounds of fuel in 1 second).

Here's a bigger rocket that would have been fine only someone "helped" with the ejection mechanism and the parachute didn't completely deploy.

Do you put cameras or instrumentation, or data gathering equipment in the rockets? Where do you launch them?

The larger rocket had a WW II Gun Gun Camera but due to the hard landing it didn't survive.

We used to shoot them at Smoke Creek Nevada, where Burning Man is held. Haven't done any for some time and we sold our part of The Rocket Ranch since we're leaving the country. Something about having a partner in a Homeland Security approved explosives site living in Russia probably wouldn't set well.
