    How does that effect the strength of the glass? How much of a bump does it take to shatter it? Deinitely a unique look!

    looks like they shatter the middle layer of laminated glass - and I would be designing the glass to have adequate strength in only 1 of the three layers, just in case one of the outer layers got compromised in the future. By keeping the outer layers "unbroken", dust buildup in the cracks is not an issue, so it would look good for many years.
