    Bad sound effects. It does not sound like that. They're starting up the reactor, there's a bit of a thud, then it glows blue from Cherenkov radiation. Looks like they only ran it for a few seconds then shut it down. Interesting side note; water is excellent at blocking radiation. You could jump in that pool and swim around and you'd probably receive a dose slightly above background.

    That's probably some university reactor or something. It doesn't make power. It's just there so they can experiment with it.

    Ok , thanks, makes sense, honestly it was the sound effects that got me, the obscenity of that gear windup implied something fantastical is going to happen, which I did not see.
