I have 9 angle grinders maybe half of them have guards. my 9" no guard missing when I got it, 2 of the 3 7" no guards 1 has flap disk, 1 has soft disk guards on them would be useless and in the way 1 41/2" has a wire bead brush it has a guard 1 has a cup brush guard would be useless 1 has a cob again guard would be useless 1 a flap disk no guard. 1is used only with aluminum or stainless-steel grinding disk it has a guard, I rarely if ever use cut off disk. In 55 years of being in the trade I have had 1 disk grenade on me and that was on a bench mounted chainsaw sharpening grinder, and was my fault by the way for trying to grind a profile in an HSS cutting tool free hand on the wrong machine
