Have you ever considered welding a tee handle to an Allen wrench?
Unfortunately I don't have a welding machine. As soon as I acquire one, I will expand my possibilities. Thanks for the comment Isambard!
Here's my solution for that problem. I believe it's about the easiest to make and it's worked just fine for me. It's all made from steel and is strong and rigid.
Great design Crusty, however, forces applied parallel to the x-axis tend to cause the part to lift off the machine table (conventional vise has this problem). It is no wonder that inclined shims are placed to make the part move against the machine table. That's also why I prefer to use a milling vise (I've already built and shared one here https://www.homemadetools.net/forum/...957#post164288) or use some type of clamp that does the same as the mill vise. This fixation model solves this type of problem.
