    Surface Grinder Restoration

I got this old Delta grinder from an elderly retired gentleman, he use to make lettering stamps and all sorts of templates for Panagraph machines, he showed me some of his work, Whata Craftsman, This man was amazing, I don't think they make people like this guy any more,
He bought this machine brand new in 1944, He didn't need a surface grinder to much so the machine has low hours on it even though it's 72 years old, It Has the original Walker 6" X 12" Magnetic Chuck

I totally disassembled it from top to bottom, stripped all the painted surfaces, polished all the bare surfaces, and was very careful with the machined surfaces, every thing stayed original, 3 coats of Machine Grey was applied, the ways looked like they had no signs of wear, Whata Find.

Below are some photos of before and after
As always thanks for looking and happy machining

That is a beauty Doug, looks fresh as a daisy primped and painted for an old coot. Amazing find with the original magchuck and the older gentleman sounds like a treasure. Warms my heart to see it go to a good home. Thanks for sharing this with us! ~PJ
