Hello all, I am making a wooden flute and want to include a tuning slide. I haven't been able to find commercial brass tube where one size slides into another. Swaging has been suggested but need some help about how you do it.

Hi, McMaster-Carr sells telescoping brass tubing up to 1" in dia.
Hi Glueman2,
Allied Supply sell what you want but only to Musical instrument repair technicians. Maybe you could have a chat with Todd at Brass Music Specialists in Brisbane. He may have what you want in stock or could order it in for you. Attachment 17623
telescoping brass tubing googles easily but the .com vendors may not suit delivery in Queensland.
Biggest issue to swaging your own is a question of power, whether drawing through a die or building a rotary swage. First step is supply of annealed tubing, or annealing commercial half-hard lengths. Any sites dealing with reloading of rifle cartridges will cover the simple process; it is air cooled not chilled.
If I was faced with producing an airtight seal, first attempt might be felt 'o-rings' and lube used by brass musicians.
