    THis I will remember. I have to make some thin wall copper tubing for a pole sleeve on loudspeaker motors. This is a great way to accomplish it.

    I have tried that a few times.

    Holding the pipe in my lathe chuck, pushing the swage in with the tail stock. Have not yet been very successful. Perhaps I need a better way to hold the pipe. My 3 jaw chuck cannot grip the pipe tight enough to to keep it from spinning, without crushing it. Perhaps a mandrel inside the pipe to prevent the chuck from crushing it, or make a collet type adapter for the chuck.

    Make a six-sided die block for your three jaw or a 4-sided (as seen in the video) if you have a 4-jaw. The trick is to apply gunsmith rosin to the inside of the die. If you have almost total containment (impingement) it works every time.
