Hi All
I recently decided to make a bearing oil way cutting tool, but try and make it as small and as cheap as possible. The most expensive item was the bevel gears from China at £14.00 (2:1 ratio) some split bearing bushes for £8.00. The rest of the material was steel stock I already had. The back of the T2 holder was already profiled which clamps to the tool post, as I had made a few in the past for different projects. So with a plan in my head I set about making the tool. The finished tool is in the video below. This was more of I don’t need one but one would be nice. Also I wanted to see if I could make one without it costing a fortune and not being to big and heavy and quick to load on to the lathe.
