Captain,
I have an old Rockwell Delta 9" table saw I got in 1968 and it is well made except for the cast hand wheels (too many rough edges). I think the hand wheels can be improved based on your example. Also, are you planning on making the table side extensions to the saw table top? I bought my cast iron extensions when I purchased the Rockwell Delta but wished these were much wider. I might add a 4" steel spacer in between the table top and the side extensions to make the top wider.

Hi Paul, I have the side extensions but I am still working on the machine to improve it even more.
say 4 inch steel spacers might try that, i am going to make an back extension over the motor after I install the motor and new belt.
I like this table saw because it is well built and is compact but heavy. The gearing is top notch for the 45 degree and blade up mine moves smooth as can be after I worked it over. I use a lot of wd 40 works wonders on everything so far.. cheers....:O)

Hi Captain,
The back extension will be very useful and an excellent improvement even if it is made from wood. I have free standing adjustable roller stand at the rear of the saw for the big parts but it is the small 2 foot or less parts where the back extension would be handy. I do a lot of custom mill work on the 9" table saw and too many small parts have been dented in falls to the floor and too dangerous to reach over the saw blade to hold onto.
