I regularly use a SMALL Makita cordless drill to tap multiple holes, with the chuck and drive clutch just tight enough that it'll slip if the tap jams, the matching drivers lower speed higher torque and no slip clutch with a solid drive adaptor would break a tap in an instant. We also use the same set up when cleaning out the threads in optical table tops, some have over 1500 holes to do, so anything that helps the job along is welcome!
