That is just freakin' amazing. Would this fail safe? Would it be legal in North America? Is there a mechanism to let the cage down if there's a failure? With hydraulic manlifts like Genies you can manually let the hydraulics down if they **** the bed. ...which is necessary because they usually seem to break down about 3 times a day.

I would think that sort of mechanism would be more suitable as a ham radio antenna mast...

I would like to see it go up to it's max height. That is a lot of pistons so I wonder about the cost.

I think its chain over cog not piston or hydraulic that makes it even simpler,my two cents

IF it's based on the twin column Genie we had that looked the same your correct, hated that thing as wear in the mast bearings allowed almost 2 feet of sideways motion at full height. The real deal: https://dealermanlift.com/wp-content...20/01/DPL6.jpg

Wouldn't there need to be a reel to take up cable chain? How would the cable or chain not be exposed?
Each section appears to be 3" x 24" x 48" that should not wobble much at the top.

No chain to take in, each sections lift chain is powered by the motion of the previous section, the first section is usually lifted hydraulically, and to prevent finger traps most of it is hidden behind filler panels. The sideways movement at just below locked out full height when the sliding bearing cum guide blocks get worn can be quite large as it's cumulative section on section. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/12...5s.html#manual

I keep an emergency escape line in the bucket in case the lift stock in the top travel position.
