    One use for Polycarbonate is helicopter windscreens. Experienced a bird strike once and other than getting a big fright, there was absolutely no damage.

    When I worked at my pal's glass shop many years ago we put it in the downstairs door for a window. Whenever someone asked how strong polycarbonate was we would throw a 3 lb hammer at it overhand. Sold a fair amount of it that way.

    There are many manufacturers but we sold Lexan. I'm not sure what my buddy is selling now, that was over 20 years ago.
