With you on your thoughts on this, I suppose the only saving grace is that it's very visible unlike diesel spills. Transport Dept's can't seem to grasp the fact that constantly changing road surfaces are dangerous.
I fail to understand why these days a non slip solution for markings cannot be found, I suspect cost is the main reason.
With so much Lego land road markings, sign-age and crossings it's getting harder to concentrate on reading the road which is one of the reasons I don't ride on roads any more.
I have just rebuilt a 1955 DOT Earls forked trials bike so I can have some off road fun (much safer).
