Back when I worked in truck repair I had a tire blow out on me. The Cx rolled in with a flat on one of the little low profile tires on a moving trailer. I pulled the wheel and started airing it up to look for a hole. At about 60 PSI it went off like a gunshot. I heard a zipper sound half a second or less before it let go but didn't know what that meant. It blew a fist sized hole through a 1/2" OSB partition wall and the chunk of wood it knocked loose was stuck about an inch into the side of the shop refrigerator.
I don't know if it would blow your head off, but it would certainly have put you in the ER.
