    I'm amazed that technology is so much larger than finance in the US. Not sure if that's an accurate reflection of a productive industry or a massive bubble that's ready to pop. A bit of both?

    It is important when looking at info to be careful about what you are being shown. This is not about the size of the industry in each country but about how large the corporations involved in it are. That said there is no doubt that corporations like Microsoft and Apple are huge corporations with a worldwide market.

    What's even more staggering is that there's only a small number of about five institutional investors that have acquired a controlling interest in most of the publicly traded companies on the planet, so the same handful of wealthy interests are benefitting from damned near all of these companies.
