I used one of those more than 30 years ago to roll pizza bases out, and they were pretty old then.

We had a local Mexican restaurant that had a tortilleria just inside the entrance next to the reception area. Inside were two Hispanic people making fresh flour and corn tortillas, no automated machines, just manual presses, a big flat top griddle next to them. All of the tortillas for all of their dishes were made there (as far as I know). On the other side of them was a guy that had a cutter with 6 or 8 radial blades cutting tortilla chips right off the flat top, and a big fryer there to fry them! He would stack a bunch of them and fry the rest. As soon as you walked in you could smell the fresh corn tortillas. You could buy dozens at the side of the tortilleria through a little window. Great idea but apparently not recession proof, they closed in '09.
