looks like wheat straw - often shipped to feedlots to be the roughage the bovines need to consume - mixed into a feed with protein, minerals, etc.
They do the same with grass straw, but the field would be more green. If it were oat straw, it would be a lighter brown - kind of like a sun faded kahki.
They take those 4x4x8 bales and put them in a big hydraulic press to squeeze them down even more before they are re tied and put into shipping containers when going overseas. That would an interesting video to watch...
