I once stopped at a truckstop in Sweetwater Tex. and when I walked in I noticed a bull hauler fast asleep while leaning on the pay phone. After I ate I headed up to Lubbock and upon arriving I found the road closed and cops everywhere chasing cattle which got loose when that tired trucker laid his rig over at the first turn after many miles of mostly straight roadway.
If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.

Notoriously straight roads in Texas. As a kid that went with my truck driving dad in the summers I remember the heat, straight roads, on ramps to the interstate that was dirt roads, and onion farms we picked up loads from.

That's true for most of the state but I often see flatlanders white knuckle driving who've never experienced snaky up and down narrow roads like we have here in the hill country. None of them instinctively notice the traffic lights mounted 20' in the air so that traffic coming up a hill can know that the light past the crest has turned red. And don't get me started about the road system here which is mostly old wagon trails paved over.
