    That may well be but most likely for whatever their reasoning they saw the need to traverse the tunnel I'm sure the prospect of a train sharing the tunnel at the same time was not in their plans. Maybe next time they should try and check for a train schedule. A lot of people use train tunnels to get from one side of a mountain to the other if a train happens to come while they are in the tunnel the safest thing for them, is to lay down as near to the side of the tunnel as possible.

    All our tracks and tunnels are fenced off here in Blighty to stop you from trespassing. You have no reason to trespass unless employed to maintain the Rail track and surrounding areas. So I realise that in other parts of the world, the tracks and tunnels are accessible. And like you said, they should try and check for a train schedule before going in.
