Train Table Made From 8020 Aluminum Extrusions

The pictured O gauge train layout was built using 8020 aluminum extrusions for a table. It's been up and running for about 3 years now, and I would recommend this method of construction. It wasn't cheap, but it could eventually be disassembled and either moved, or the extrusions used for some other purpose. The aluminum doesn't have any affect on the wireless train controls.

That stuff used to cost an insane amount before 3d printers started using it. Only problem is finding longer lengths, most people sell pre-cut for normal printers.

Nice, but as you say expensive, we have 6M lengths of various manufacturers extrusions at work for making and modifying lab stuff, I've been using it for years and introduced it here to replace wood and less stable steel box framing, now most of our specialist benching is extrusion framed. And 'easy' (ish) to modify.
