Transfer Screws fast and easy to make

I have a few sets of transfer screws but none for metric. I needed a set of 6mm x 1 for my lathe chuck adapter so over to the lathe, run a short taper on 3 6mm x 1mm screws. These were set screws so there was nothing to cut off. They fit in a short piece of round stock with a 6mm x 1 mm thread that was chucked in the lathe. Then a bit of work with a triangle file on that taper to make two square sides and they are done. I used a small pair of needle nose pliers to insert and remove them from the chuck so they are not quite as convenient to use as the commercial ones but they also cost a lot less.
