    I'm pretty sure that's not a lime tree, but the process is pretty cool.

    It very well could be just depending on which species the leaves and bark are at least similar

    Huh...I've never seen a lime tree like that. The Persian and Mexican (key) limes I've grown all had thicker, smaller, darker green leaves. Just curious, what sort of lime is the one you posted? It does look similar to what they were digging. Maybe, it's a common lime, which is not a citrus but a linden. I know they have those in Europe.

    Europe sounds about right I think the one I posted was in the UK
