he stopped to video it? I've been near two high power things that started to glow and killed the power before stopping to panic.

Had a boss on one harass me for not evaluating things in detail first. The electricians said I prevented more expensive damage.

Was doing work in a mobile home, many years ago, and noticed the lights go brighter, when the microwave or the furnace started. Sure sign of a floating ground. As it was, it was night, and I was able to see the glow on the connection box, through the kitchen window. Probably why they had had 2 TVs blow out. I called the power company, and warned him to be careful exiting the home – that the trailer's aluminum exterior was no-doubt 'hot.'

I also knew a pool maintenance worker who was killed, when he got welded to the cement in his bare feet. Who wanted to see why the 3-phase pump motor kept kicking the breaker. Last time I'd seen him, I was trying to dissuade him from indiscriminately poking around in the High Voltage section, of a microwave in the club house. He claimed he had an electrical engineering degree, from Penn State. Don't know about anyone else, but I've noticed a severe lag, in understanding the real-world hazards of electricity, in more than one electrical engineer.
