I wonder if it can be done with normal cling wrap?

Nature has some real survival skills.

Clearing an old fence row of brush and 2-3-4" trees one time Used a chain saw walking along the fence cutting off all of the trees above the fence and cleared that material away. Next day went along and cut the trunks closer to the ground and cleared all of that away. A few of the trunks had grown into the fence so I just left them there.

Fast forward a could of years later, some of those trunks that I left in the fence had settled back down onto the stumps. They had grafted themselves back onto the stump and were shooting sprouts out above the fence.
