Using my newly made Heat Treating oven to make Mokume Gane.

For anyone who doesn't know Mokume Gane, it is an ancient Japanese technique used to make jewellery, blade guards and many other things. It is basically Damascus or pattern welded steel but made from non ferrous metals such as gold, silver, copper, brass, platinum, bronze etc.
It is tricky to master the making of a Mokume Gane billet and I have wanted to try for a long time. Here is a record of my failures followed by success. Hope you find it interesting.
