    If one uses a Robertson (square headed) screwdriver and robertson screws, the screws will stay on the screwdriver, even when horizontal. Ask any Canadian electrician.

    For starting slotted or Philips screws I have a tool that clips in my pocket. When it comes to removing them I usually just grab thehandle and aim in the general direction of the screw sometimes need a mirror to find them though.
