Don't you just love German? "Fliesenverlegegerät" is a mouthful to pronounce unless you know how to break it into its constituent words...

My German is terribly rusty 40 years since I spoke it much but I seem to think it refers to a captain of a steamship probably the Danube company and I see something about navigation I never was very fluent in the language but could read and speak enough not to get lost or order the wrong thing to eat or drink
