TV and print ads for a well-known red shop vac touted high peak horsepower and full load amps, demonstrating it could pick up a bowling ball.
Walking through the retail store representing same brand I happened upon a live demo and a few onlookers. Pitchman looked toward us doing the bowling ball trick, one or two were wide eyed agog, until a kid said "they got holes in them for that".
The guy in shop coat lost a little momentum.
