variable radius cutter
My current project is to do some metal forming so I had to make concave and convex pieces(anvil?foot?) to do the actual forming. Since it was going to be a process where I'd start out with a guestimate and then cut a tighter and tighter radius until I compensated for springback I decided I needed a way to make a repeatable and precise way to do it. I scored some 80/20 2020 10 series aluminum extrusion off the local Craigslist. So I used that and some rack and pinion's I got off ebay along with some 80/20 linear bearings. Along with the rotary table off my mill. I hope the pix will be self explanatoryAttachment 4106.

Nice setup C-bag. Easy to build and precise.

Thanks Altair. 80/20 is the bomb for doing this kind of stuff.
I'm new to this forum but on other forums that seem to run the same software. So I thought the process to upload pix would be the same.....but it didn't seem to want to let me upload more than one pic. I was waiting to see if anybody even noticed this or wanted the other pix to see if I should give it another try for the different views and cutting convex and concave.

Wow, thanks Ken, so does that mean I just post other projects to this forum and you transfer or just go to "my" homemade tools?
Sorry just a noob.

Yep, any of your homemade tools that you post in the Homemade Tools subforum will be added to the site and your HomemadeTools.net builder page automatically updated.
Just start a new thread for each tool and we'll take it from there.
Non-tool items should be posted in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.
We really appreciate your being part of the community! :hattip:
