Or nails or a rock or a bullet or barb wire that the tree grew over. It happens a half dozen times a day. They have a whole knife sharpening crew and knife sharpening room on site. You'll always see guys pushing around carts loaded with knives. In OSB (which is what I mostly have experience with) the strander is similar to this but it rotates around the log. Those knives do not last long and need to get changed out all the time.

I recently felled fifty Mesquite trees on my property most were old growth up to 20" diameter trunks. When alive a mesquite will dull a chain saw quick enough but if a year or more dead, they will create sparks even with a new chain. I felled one that had numerous bullets and a couple broadhead arrow heads. If you're going to do archery or target practice, do the world a favor set up a proper target, not only is it safer you might save someone's chain saw chain.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products
