    I have one of those that belonged to my father in law. Fun to use but VERY tedious. He was amazingly fast using it.

    I still have my dad's. I remember tediously doing the text on my 8th grade science fair project with it...

    I used one of those as well, back when drafting tables were still the norm. Once CAD was available, they had no value.

    I still have a plastic template with letters that you used with a pencil:

    Yes, I remember those too. My brother is a retired architect and could “freehand” write on his drawings and it would look like it was done by one of those.
