I always have one of those on plumbing jobs. You can diagnose lots of problems with one.

oops, I think you might type like I do. 3.279 bar should be 3.792 ... 1bar = 100 kilopascal

In round numbers, I always remember from SCUBA diving, that 1 bar ≈ 1 atmosphere ≈ about 14.5 PSI ≈ 34 feet of water. At about 100 ft you are at 3 atmospheres, so you use your air 3 times faster and the air is actually "thicker" to breathe.

Before I went to work for Michelin Tire Co. I was fairly familiar with the metric system from science classes in school. Now after having worked with it for years, I prefer it and wish that they had pushed it through in the USA. That would have at least been something useful for the government to ram down our throats. Much simpler to use when one is familiar with it.

I bought one of those because the water pressure in my house was so high taking a shower felt like needles hitting me. The pressure was 95 PSI. I installed a pressure regulator on the main supply line and it is set to 45 PSI which is about right for me.
