Known commercially as 'Filament Winding'. This process makes vessels in a very wide range of diameter and length; some are containers, others can be pressurized.

Not just containers. Everything from very small diameter bearings / bushings to fuse bodies to underground piping systems all wound on steel mandrels, to these guys and bigger! I want to see the oven they put this in to cure it! Also, does anyone know if they use some sort of expandable or inflatable mandrel for something this size?
