Very, very easy to do for those not thinking. Seen it happen a few times but not let go to that extent.
the customer is going to be real proud of that shop. since they will be getting a new car out of the deal. the one that burned was probably on its last leg any way otherwise why the need to be welding on the floor pan or frame?

I just came in for a noise in the back end and you say I need a new interior, and window glass and dash??????????
If you are alone and want to weld the car floor pan, just use a wet sponge or a spray bottle to soak the the fabric on the spot to be welded. The fabric may steam but hardly reach the point of ignition. Don't carry on welding continuously, stop occasionally to check the car interior and touch the fabric with you hand to make sure it's still wet and not dry.
