There is a much easier way to pull that forklift out of the ditch,
I had a similar event involving a forklift that had backed into a pipeline trench, at an angle steeper than the one in the video. We used my 14,000lb welding rig to pull it out. 10 sp. road ranger transmission small V8 cat engine. Transmission in low, chain around the goose neck ball, forks about a foot off the ground, chain around the mast about 5 feet up from the ground Eased out on the clutch just above an idle. By hooking the chain higher up this raised the rear of the forklift up while pulling down on the drive tires. Pulled it out first time with no problems.
These guys should have had a drawbar on the lift arms with the arms raised and the chain on the forklift much higher up but the forks down low
Never try to tell me it can't be done

I love the two guys at the start of the video "pushing" the forklift!

I am surprised that the front is not more robust.

the tractor driver should have slipped the clutch as he had the load WAY too high on the tractor. He can still pull it out by keeping the front axle floating above the road.

Got a lot easier once they straightened out the front wheels. Those were acting as a hook holding on the bank until then.

Pulled a bus out last year, I had to go twice to the driver to tell him to keep his wheels straight so I could pull him straight out at the same angle he went in. As a farmer I know a lot about pulling people out, it is frustrating watching tow truck programs on tv.

The tow truck programs on TV are all about the drama. No drama, no viewership from the functionally depraved.
