3 guys would lift 1 corner while the 4th slid the aluminum plate out from under the wheel and removed the wheel. 2 minutes and the car would be stripped of anything valuable

Doesn't even take three guys. Anyone who is wanting to steel the wheels is going to use a jack, just remove the plates and remove the wheels as usual. Now that is unless those plates are bolted to the concrete!

Usually on those newer spare holders there is a key lock.
