Wheeled knee pads and patent searching - GIF, video, photos, patents

Wheeled knee pads. I have seen this as a single unit before, but not as two separate pads. I'm reminded of the broken skateboard rider or the skateboard roller skates, but as knee pads.

Maybe gimmicky, but I could see it work in certain situations, especially when you get good at using them. The manufacturing company, Milescraft, looks like an interesting little tool company. I like this too, at Milescraft.com:

The description says it's patented, but no patent number? Here it is in the tool manual:

From there, a search on the patent number at the US Patent Office advanced search. Here's the syntax, using PN for patent number, and APT/1 to search for utility patents only (no design patents): PN/7191677 AND APT/1.

That leads us right to it:

Adjustable Angle Drive for a Rotary Power Tool

Inventor is Patrick Barkdoll of Pecatonica, IL. Now another search to find this inventor's inventions: IN/Barkdoll AND IN/Patrick AND APT/1. Looks like a lot of retail display stuff; not so interesting:

Now, try with the assignee name of Nomis, LLC: AN/Nomis AND APT/1. Now we've found the tool patents:

    A few picks:

Expandable Sawhorse-Type Support for Work Pieces

    Saw Blade Changing Tool

    Adjustable Doweling Jig
