I am a forced retired 77 year old Greek American living in Valrico, Florida. I have a small hobby machine shop in my garage where fix somethings and break others. I make muzzle breaks for hand guns and rifles. Not CNC work but plain ordinary 5-10 hours of working on a 9x20 lathe and a mini mill. They work find, but no zip, zip, zip in making parts. I would live to get a 13x40 gunsmith lathe, but I can't justify my age versus $$ amount on a fixed income. I know I can get a brand new one for about $3500.00 or $81.00 a months. The other justification is my better half, I will never hear the end of it. But, I still can dream. I enjoy seeing projects and thinking on how to make and or improve on them for my use. I watch a lot of YouTube, e.g. Keith Fanner, Tom Lipton, Abom 79, Mr. Pete 222 and others. I seem to be looking and making my apprenticeship in machining by watching their videos, learning a lot of tricks and ways of doing things. Right now I am procrastinating the cleaning, resetting and oiling my 9x20, but I will eventually "get her done". Hope to be a bit active on this forum and give a 2 cents input on what I see, read or do. Thanks for letting you who is me.
