Wire Clamp Tool similar to Clamptite simple plans included
I made this to fix a leak in some irrigation system tubing that was leaking.
I had tried to put a small hose clamp on the tube but it still leaked.
After a little research I found the Clamptite tool.
You can fix just about any size hose or tube with this clamp.
I made one for me and one for junior so he could put it in his airplane.
Here is a safety wire clamping tool that is simple to make.
It uses 20 gage stainless steel safety wire. You could use plain steel
wire but it would eventually rust. There are a lot of youtube vids on
using it and showing how to make the double loop.
This one was made with drill rod and two brass collars.
The collars are simply brass discs that are super glued to the
adjustment rod.
In practice the ends of the wire loop are brought thru the holes
in the adjustment rod after wrapping them around the tube or hose
that is to be clamped. Then the rod is rotated with the handle to stretch
the wire tight. Then the entire tool is rotated 180 deg to put the final bend in the wire.
