    Just so much wrong with that! Not the least being that when the wire relaxes it will be looser than it was before!

    It actually works very well. Most is wire is stiff enough to maintain the bends much like coils of a spring. Then, when the wire is stressed each bends gives a little, but does not reach the point of plastic deformation. That allows the wire to spring back into shape.
