He is indeed and, important as that work was, his later work on the theory of computation had even greater significance.
As an element of his study he visualized the theoretical computer that was capable of computing anything. The machine in the video is a finite model of that type.
Even more important in this age of burgeoning AI, he designed what today is known as the "Turing Test" to determine if a computer had evolved to the point that a human couldn't determine if it was human or machine.
